Arkansas residents are handled by the New Orleans district office. However, the INS has two subdistrict offices for Arkansas residents. The western half is handled by the INS' Fort Smith office and the eastern half is handled by the INS' Memphis office. Asylum applications are submitted to the Texas Service Center. The Fort Smith office (Western half of Arkansas) is located at 4991 Old Greenwood Road, Fort Smith, AR 72903. The office is opened from 7:30am until 2:00pm. The Memphis suboffice (for Eastern half of Arkansas) is located at Suite 100, 1341 Sycamore View Road, Memphis, TN 38134. The office hours are from 8:30am until 2:00pm Monday through Thursday. The office closes at 1:00pm on Friday. The suboffices handle most of the matters with the public. In case it is necessary, the main district office is located at 701 Loyola Avenue, Room T-8011, New Orleans, LA 70113. However, you should contact your suboffice first.
